We're supporting RSPCA
The RSPCA Leeds, Wakefield and District Branch provides a safe haven in which abused, neglected, and abandoned animals can be cared for, socialised and rehabilitated before they are found a new home. The branch can provide accommodation for 15 dogs, 30 cats and 8 rabbits at any one time.
Although we work very closely with the national RSPCA inspectors who bring in animals to us, we are a separate charity to them and we are therefore completely self-funding, relying on raising funds through our fundraising activities & charity shops to help us continue to do what we do. We work very closely with our local community and offer support to pet owners who may need help microchipping, neutering or with animal welfare advise.
Meet Diesel, our hero dog for last year’s BIG Walkies. Diesel came into our centre after his previous owner was unable to look after him and give him the care he deserved. He spent many months with us and just wasn’t getting the attention he deserved from potential new owners. He was getting very down so we decided we wanted him to be our hero dog for our BIG Walkies event last year and give him the attention he deserved! He had a fab time and not long after this, found his forever home! Diesel has definitely got his happy ending!
